I was just reading up on ways to scan books into various cataloging applications.  There was some discussion on the merits of OCR versus barcodes.  One person noted that they prefer ISBNs despite the time required to type them in, because some of their books are too old to have barcodes ( Read more... )

Which is one of the reasons I'll eventually get a smartphone. I mean, mine is moderately intelligent, but...

My best friend is urging me to drink the KoolAid and get an iphone. I am resisting. :p

And can someone explain to me why I don't have a book/reading icon?! *adds to list of graphics projects*

I'd love to have an iPhone, but the last time I checked the plans were too expensive for my budget, and I do prefer the contract-free setup. Also, I find (guiltily) that I like some aspects of Android better than iOS.

However, I happily split stuff between my iPod and my phone. If you do go for the iPhone...do you have a Mac?
