My power's back on, yayyy!

But being without is really boring.  Not so much because all my electronics were down, as that it's really hard to read by flashlight and all my candles are designed for smell, not light.  Though I'm not sure anyone designs candles for light output anymore, at least around here.

Some reviewer I read years ago stated that all the Laura Ingalls Wilder books were just loving descriptions of food with plot wedged between them, and sometimes I wonder if they were on to something there.

And of course, there's the Laura Ingalls Wilder cookbook, which is fun to read as well!

Given that (predicating that the books are based on reality) she and her family nearly starved to death in a winter eating nothing but ground wheat, I can't blame her for obsessing a little!

Yay for power! :-) I know I read some of the "Little House on the Prairie" books when I was younger but I don't really remember them.

They have their moments--in part for a good look at the times, if at a child's reading level. I enjoy them.

Farmer Boy takes me back so far, I can't see myself! Glad you are OK and power restored. We've got a depression to the west and Katia to the east now. I feel like a rain soaked sandwich :-)

I loved this series. And Farmer Boy was wonderful

I even was able to find a book that includes a collection of Wilder family recipes.
