"Gullet" is my favorite word, as in, "Beware the yawning gullet of the Deb."

Maw is another good word for gullet. I find gaping maw evocative of the eternal food chain, like the snake eating its tail in Hindu cosmology.

I once (around age 19) named a cat Waffle because I decided Waffle was a fun word to say -- felt good coming out of your mouth -- and this way I'd say it a lot more often. Everyone either thought it was the craziest thing, or was shocked because they had known a cat named Waffles (plural, theirs was always plural).

When I have other wordy opinions to express, I will return. ^__^
