Oh, Vern, I can not tell you how sorry I am but I'm sure you can probably guess based on what's happened to us with our fuzzy ones lately. Only you can make the decisions you need to, and it will never be easy, and there will probably always be second guesses, but you know Gremlin knows how much you love him. ♥

I have some stories/experiences (and my parents do too) that may help you make a decision.

Either way, I think you've given Gremlin a damn good home. I couldn't really think of a better pet owner :)

I am so sorry. It's so hard. My boys are my children and I think I would spend what ever it took to keep them with me even a day longer. But, that's me being selfish.

Most importantly, you should determine which route will give him the most quality of life. If the chemo is going to make him really sick, then that may not be the route to take.

We had to put my dog Heidi down due to cancer and she was 16. She was so old and it spread so much there really wasn't much we could do... It's the hardest thing I think I've ever been through.
That dog was with me for over half of my life. She was a sister, not a pet.
I still cry when I think about her.

The good thing is though is that she led a very full life and there wasn't a moment that went by that she didn't know how much we loved her.
Now she's no longer in pain and hanging out with my grandmother and other pets that have passed.

I'm so sorry to hear that you have to go through this, Vern. It's not easy by any means.
Just know that we're right down the road if you need anything.. and I really mean it. We're here for you.
I know how hard this decision is.
