Got Nika from the vet this morning. She peed in the carrier as soon as I started the engine (and made a noise I've NEVER heard from her or any other cat - ever). When I got her home, I took the overlarge carrier out of my car (where it was sitting on leather seats -stupid, I know!) and put it on the plastic picnic table and went to look for some

I'm sorry to hear she's so stressed. Have you ever tried a cat pheromone diffuser? For example:

My friends and/or I have used it when moving house with cats, when introducing stranger cats to each other, when leaving a cat by itself (except someone coming in to feed) for a week, and other stress inducing situations. It's not a cure all, but it does seem to help them feel less stress.

Most pet stores have some version available, although I think Feliway is most common. Just a thought.

she's calmed down quite a bit after chilling in the small room for a while. I really want her to eat her pain killers, though. I think that would help a lot.
