We went to the cinema to see The Golden Compass today, I enjoyed it but feel that it could have been a bit better than it was. It felt a bit rushed to me, but that could be because I've just been reading the books and am used to their slower pacing and slightly more complex unfolding of events. I agree with all that VC.

The film needed to be longer for sure to tell a bit more, everything was very fast paced and jumped from one bit to the next too quickly.

Especially once they'd left Oxford

Hopefully if they make the next two they slow it down a bit. Where they ended it really didn't bother me...As long as they do make the next two movies. But I think it's a dumb reason why they ended it where they did.

Me either, take LOTR, Boromir died in Fellowship yet dies in two Towers in the books ;)
