There was a knock at her window. On the other side of it stood Gin holding a birthday cake with a smile on his face. He waited patiently, a smile on his face. He wouldn't miss Rangiku's birthday for the world.

His sudden appearance startled her, and that was an understatement. Rangiku took a step back, nearly stumbling from the force of her movement. Blinking, she stared at him. "Gin? What are you...?" She was torn between opening the window to let him in or just leaving him out there. With an icy frown, she ended up doing the former.

He smiled and presented the cake. "Happy birthday Rangiku~" He said cheerily, looking at her, "Can I come in?"

Rangiku almost smiled at the gesture, but it was overtaken by her anger with him. Her eyebrows furrowed. "Are you stupid?" she asked. "After everything...that's what you say?" It was very confusing, feeling joy, anger, and sadness all at once seeing him.
