Guy smiled wanly at Jade and followed his instructions. He curled up on his side, resting his head on a throw pillow. In his shifting, he bumped one of the dark patches on his arm against the side of the couch, and the sudden ache made him gasp. The intake of air irritated his lungs, and he curled tighter, coughing in a dry, hacking way. The spasms lasted only a few moments, and then Guy relaxed once more, trying to catch his breath.

The entire spectacle had the rare effect of making Jade want to wince. Guy truly was being very brave; not a complaint, and the child even tried to bite back how me must wish to moan at the discomfort.

Making a low noise once Guy had settled himself, he’d fold the blanket over the small body, careful of his ‘spots’ as he began to tuck the child in. “Luke will be coming to visit you later… I’m afraid you have him very worried.”

Guy breathed carefully. He didn't want to start coughing again. "He's...coming?" It would be good to see Luke, but Guy didn't want him to worry. "I'll tell him...I'm going to get...better."

Jade had said he would, after all.

"Good. I'm sure he'll be happy to hear that." Kneeling beside the couch, he finished pressing the blanket up around Guy's shoulders. "Warmer now?"
