Tachikoma, and company made their way down the street - slowly. Everyone was walking and Tachikoma just let out a sad "sigh" periodically. It ran a variety of simulations and scenarios to try and explain the oil's effect on it's AI. It concluced that since the beneficial effects of the natural oil made them feel happy, something more crude would have an opposing emotional response. It didn't expect the gas station to have much of anything different, and it's systems WERE running normally, but it didn't like not being cheery. It would tolerate it, however, because if it couldn't function, than it was utterly useless, and it'd rather be depressed and useful in some manner than stuck being a pile of unmobile metal.
