(Due to a) the fact that she's decided that her tantrum's gone on long enough and b) the occurrence of a few recent events (traumatic hallucination events, various disappearances, lingering boredom, loneliness), Franziska's decided to move back in to her previous residence ... without asking anyone's ( Read more... )

[She...what? Adrian can't help but have mixed feelings about all of this. 'Given recent events'? What did that even mean? And she can't help but think there's something fickle in moving out several rooms down a hall just to come back later.]

...What made you change your mind?

I simply thought it wise for those of us who know one another to remain in contact as much as possible, considering Discedo's various dangers and the scientists' fondness for removing people from the city on a whim - it makes things much simpler on several levels.

Also, I believe it's become considerably less crowded over there within the past few days, which was the main reason for my departure.

[She knows it was stupid, but she can't help but feel slightly disappointed.]

...Did you want your old bed back?

(It's not like she'd outright tell her anyway. YOU KNOW HOW SHE IS. B|)

No - it would be immensely ill-mannered of me to do so. I'm certain I'll be able to find a place to sleep.

I think there should be enough beds here now.

I...[And she pauses as, annoyingly, she struggles to find the right words.]...I'm really looking forward to having you around again, Franziska.

[Truthful, to a certain extent, as it would be a lie to say that she wasn't extremely apprehensive as well.]

(Franziska's not as apprehensive about the whole situation as Adrian is, but she does seem to be suffering from the same inability to find the right words. After a brief pause, she replies:)

I'm glad to hear that.

(She almost feels as if she should openly return the sentiment, but something holds her back from doing so.)

Well, if you're glad, then I'm glad.

I imagine this arrangement will prove much more successful this time.

(Franziska wonders if she should simply let the conversation end there, but in the end, decides against it:)

Would you care to accompany me on a trip to the library sometime this week? I haven't visited it lately, and it would be ... prudent to remain in pairs when leaving the safety of the apartments.

...I'd like that. I've been meaning to go there, myself.

Then we shall go. Which day is best for you?

Any day's fine for me, as long as it's after nine in the morning.

(Franziska, unsurprisingly, had planned on leaving around eight am.)

Do you have prior engagements that prevent you from leaving earlier?

If you want to leave earlier, I suppose I can always skip...

That won't be necessary; we will leave at nine-thirty.

Don't wake up too early.

(Was that a joke? Franziska suspects that it might be, but isn't quite sure.)

Why not?
