Delightful spring baby veg and nouple soup and small request

This is one of my favorite soups and I have been enjoying it thoroughly.  I wanted to share it with everyone before the seasonal vegetables were out of season!

I will try to remember to check my two izakaya cookbooks when I get home -- ISTR that at least one has recipes that call for shiso. (I also STR eating tempura shiso in Japan - they battered one side of the leaf and fried it. At least I think it was shiso! There were only 1 or 2 leaves with the meal, which is good as I think a full meal of tempura shiso would be rather overwhelming.)

I usually eat it with sushi or sashimi of flounder or other mild fish, which does you no good, I realize ... you could try it in recipes that usually involve basil or mint (non-sweet things) - it's related to them, I think. Here's a recipe for a tomato-shiso salad, for example. And here's a shiso tofu recipe. And a shiso cucumber feta salad recipe
