Jack, despite his years and YEARS of experience, will continue to be dim and…unable to pick up his own slack. For someone who has a vast knowledge of the things Torchwood deals with, why was Jack never the medic or the computer genius-- and what prevents him now from changing a bandage or predicting the Rift he lives and works on? DURRR.

Word! I mean, the man is not only from the 51st century, but he's like 170(or 2170, if you count the buried alive years...), he should know some first aid and computer stuff by now. Hell, he should know the rift fowards, and backwards, he should be able to...smell changes in the rift of something!
