M-O-O-N, that spells insomnia

I haven’t been on El Jay a lot over the last few days, so appologies if I’ve missed anything important! I’m still catching up. During the last week I have:

  • Had a lot of trouble sleeping, and I’m not sure why.
  • Done more animating work. It’s getting there, but very slowly. It’s going to be a bit of an epic, this one.
  • Completed my illustration for ( Read more... )

clubs, tattoos, the moon, films, writing, skat injector

curiousity.
you actually specifically set your alarm to get out of warm cozy bed at 3a to see lunar eclipse?? really?
have you never seen one before?
i find them rather dull....at least in terms of repeat performances. *shrug*

I was very tempted not to! I was suffering from non-sleepiness that night anyway though, so - coldness aside - I thought getting up at a strange hour wouldn't make things any worse.

I've not seen a lunar eclipse before, as far as I can remember. Not properly. There was a similar one in March last year, and at a much more sociable time of the evening, but I went to see my friend's band play, got horribly drunk and forgot to look up at the sky until it was almost over.

I'm sure a solar eclipse is a lot more interesting, but I've not properly seen one of those either.

well i guess thats fair enought then. tho to console you they really are rather dull, so dont feel like the clouds made you miss out on anything spectacular.

ive seen lots of partial solar eclipes' they too i find rather dull unless they are quite near to full.

a full solar eclipse tho is one of the last things on my list-of-to-dos....13/11/12 here i come - im going to one in australia then :)

I saw a partial solar eclipse from my parent's back garden in 1999, which was pretty spectacular, although I'd have needed to be in the far west of the country to get the full on, no-daylight-for-two-minutes effect. And travelling to Cornwall seemed like such a lot of hassle for the sake of seeing it, at the time!

I'm very jealous. Partly that you're going to Australia and partly that you'll get to see one!

its positively staggering what can be achieved when you kick LJ into touch!

Glad you get so much done and weren't thwarted by maclessness.

I nearly would have been thwarted, if my commission deadline had turned up one week earlier!

Macless life was scary at first, but I'm, doing pretty well now and I suppose the old machine will be put out to pasture sometime pretty soon. I miss the beautiful design of Apple gadgets, though... Do you know anyone who might like a seven year old G4 Powermac with a dodgy speaker?

Not a lot really, since it's so old and because you can't listen to music on it without the sound cutting in and out all the time (although it would probably still be okay with external speakers). If I can't get rid of it to somebody I know, then I was planning on donating it to charity. Comes with OS 10.3 installed, plus 640 MB memory, keyboard, mouse and a bundle of outdated graphics/publishing software. But no monitor.

If you know anyone who'd like to put in an offer...
