this happens all the time. and im sure the book the girl picked it out of at the shop was bunk - doubt she was inked by a native chinese speaker....haha
my friend masa (japanese) told me how shes seen a few - one said fish and was supposed to say happiness; and the other said free - but the meaning of cheap rather than of spirit - since in asian languages those are spelled with different characters.
i researched the one on my wrist online even tho masa had written it out for me. she was right. :)

YES!!!! im still trying to get my friend jason back home to mail me the drawing(s) he did for me this summer! his phone was disconnected for awhile, but i spoke to him last week - so *hopefully* he will send soon. ish. . .hes such a flake. hes the one that did the tatt on my wrist for me. wish i had had more time when i was in MN this summer before the wedding woulda had him just do the skelemingos too. as it was only got to sit down with him over lunch. really curious to see what he has for me - im sure i will want to tweak tho still. i have a very specific idea of what i want.

thinking i should wait til i go home to get it done since my money will go so much farther there than here....would also have to find an artist here i trust since this isnt a little peice.
