Sometimes, usually when I'm walking along a long, straight corridor, I find myself getting a strange, irrational worry in my head that the Earth's gravity might suddenly shift ninety degrees for no particular reason, and I'll plummet to my certain death against the far wall

Yes Howard, I have to admit it is a worry! I also worry about getting flattened by elephants that might just happen to fall out of the sky onto the exact spot that I happen to be in!

That's not strange. Floating away into space would be pretty cool and reasonably painless.

Crashing into a wall at the end of a long corridor at high speed would hurt. Lots. No matter what angle you collided with it at. I'd rather float away...
