That chewing with your mouth open makes you look really really silly.

It's okay to be different.

You can be weird and still have friends.

There are other people in the world named 'Janice'. (Until I was 16, I knew none except for the muppet)

Well, the main lesson I learned from him is kind of negative. He was great for kids. His stuff still is. But when he tried to go beyond it, he was still seen as a kid author.

The film that should have been his breakout was The Dark Crystal. It was too cute, in the monsters and the threats and the protagonists. It had magnificent creatures and sets and events, but it was still too damn cute.

He didn't have a mean bone in his body. And unfortunately, that meant that adults would never take his work seriously. Even Rowling made her successive Harry Potter books darker and stronger, having the books grow up with her audience.

It was only after Henson died that it was possible for his heirs to do serious stuff like Farscape. He never got the chance.

The series he did on fairytales and the greek mythology was pretty dark. Bloody hard to find them though.

It's not easy being green. And someday we'll find it, the lovers, the dreamers, and me.
