You will attract spammers, no matter what you do. Learn to click on 'block' quite often.

The "spammers" I have gotten so far are just random followers. I don't know if they expect me to mindlessly follow them back so I see their ads or what, but I have to set my account private to be able to kick them off of my followers list. Njo direct message spam yet.
