Ouch!

The part with Lian was sweet, but thank goodness for Roy! He knew Dick was putting on an act, and got him to open up. Loved this:

He brought gaze back to Roy’s, somber and edged with pain. Sometimes, Roy thinks that if it weren’t for the whiteout lenses, Dick’s identity would’ve been out by the end of week one, because how could anyone not recognize eyes like those. There were some things that you just don’t cross often in life, and a set of eyes that expressive, is one of them.

and this:

They were in the living room, getting closer to the couch. His grip tightened on both his Robin and his throwing knife, ready to strike and dodge if he needed to. Dick’s breathing changed subtly, good. That meant he’d be ready to move if they needed too.

A clipped Bird is always a sad thing. :(

*nods* Dick's lucky that he's got Roy looking out for him.

Eyes really are the window to the soul, and Dickie's got a very expressive soul.

Ready for anything.

A clipped Bird is always a sad thing. :(

Absolutely.

Thanks for the comment brady!

Yeah, the 'his Robin' was a wonderful window in to Roy's mind! :)

Go Roy Harper, the only person who can break through to stubborn ex Robins. Lian is amazing. I hope there's more coming.
Also love reference to Alfred.
Remember Dick, Bucky manages to be Captain America with one arm.

That should be classified as a superpower. Yay Roy!

Lian is amazing. I hope there's more coming.

Indeed she is. There certainly will be, two more at the least!

Also love reference to Alfred.

Alfred has to be the most patient, and most stressed person in the DCU. Look at all the people he deals with!

Remember Dick, Bucky manages to be Captain America with one arm.

Good point! I'm sure he'll figure out a way to get through this. I'm just not sure how yet...

Glad you liked it cat!

This is true! Couldn't Dick get a prosthetic arm? Even if he couldn't fly again, it would be useful.

It's definitely a thought. I've been toying with several ideas... now just to find one that fits!

Oh Dick sweetheart, *hugs him*, good thing Roy knows him so well.

Thank goodness for Roy and his stubborn ways. *hugs with you*

And Jason, well, it's understandable why he freaked out.

Yup. It had to be a bit of a shock coming home to an empty apartment.

You really write these characters so well.

Thank you!

Even with one arm I know Dick-hugs are still the best.

I can totally identify with Dick here--how do you even start to face something like this when you're him? Even if I do kind of love the Gimp Justice idea...

That's because they're all full of love!

His whole way of life's just been rear-ended. This is going to be very tough for him.

It would be an interesting group, wouldn't it?

Thanks for commenting magpie!
