Really? I guess I better hang on to my 30+ year old Maytag then.

I've had 3 and we're on our 4th machine now. That's an average of almost 10 years each though that's misleading because the first one lasted 18 years. You do the math. No, they don't make them like they used to.

I agree with him. My Kenmore washer is at least 20 years old and my Maytag driver the same. I have had the dryer worked on twice and both times he said they don't make machines like this one. I am keeping both until they die!

Ours lasted about 12 years before we had to replace it. Happy shopping!

Sadly, appliances have joined the ranks of what's disposable in this world. It's like things are purposefully built with an expiration date on them anymore. :/ I had an iron that my grandmother gave me in 1979 when I went off to Penn State for my second year. It last until about 2005!! The replacement seems so flimsy compared to it.
