Although I read this fic when it was first posted, I wanted to digest it a little before I commented. As this fic was prompted by a hope that you would develop the descriptive side of your writing, I would say that you are well on your way. I'm a great fan of your earlier work where plot and action play a big role. Emphasizing the descriptive quality makes the scene more vivid but also slows down the movement. There's a feeling of heaviness. When V is experiencing extreme emotions there's usually a feeling of sharpness, but not here. Although it's raining heavily at the beach, it doesn't feel wild. It feels oppressive. I also get the idea that since you are using such descriptive detail V is noticing the detail, too. During Season 3 my impression was that V had tunnel vision, so the fact that she notices is a sea change for her. Excellent job!

Thank you for your considered comment, and I think your insight about Veronica's tunnel vision is exactly what I was going for-that she's suddenly overwhelmed with everything that's happened, and it is all weighing very heavily on her, as it should. There was a particular technique that I was attempting here in the descriptive passages.

I thought your ideas about pacing with the style that I was attempting were very helpful-thank you for that. I am always trying to stretch in some way, even if at first glance the stories I post don't appear to have an ulterior motive like that (in some of my smutty stories, for instance, I might be working on past tense). You all are my guinea pigs, and when people tell me their reactions, it helps me.

Thanks very much for reading and commenting.
