Death By Music and Corporate Zombie from Threadless
my first monthly Metrocard using my eTrac card (which almost doesn't count as a purchase, because pre-tax dollars pretty much feel like free ( Read more... )

fiery furnaces, misusing lj features, photography, concerts, ahoy capitalism, it's miggie's fault, music, pwned by threadless, my dog was lost but now he's found, too tired to be witty

Ah, our eTrac cards work differently. Mine is issued by Chase (I'm a City employee), and I have to use it as a debit card. OTOH, Pre-Tax dollars rock the world.

ours say debit on them, but they work as credit cards. there was a big note to that effect in the envelope.

(yay for being salaried!)

what else did you look at? I decided it was time for a real digital SLR instead of something that just looks like one, and I already have a couple Nikon lenses, so that pretty much settled it. not that I'll ever have a use for an effectively 300mm telephoto at a show, but yanno.

haha, it's almost like you expect to be shooting concerts or something!

I've heard the "8 is the new 6" thing too, but it seems like Nikon has no middle ground right now. the next bigger is the D200, and that's 1) 10.2 MP, and more importantly 2) $1700 new. if only!

ahaha, yay! I was totally freaked out buying it (especially since I'm buying it with money I was supposedly saving for my apartment deposit when I take over the lease in September). but my little old Mavica is laggy and keeps losing pictures, and that's very uncool.

O:-)!! I figured, I already have two Nikon lenses, so I might as well keep up my brand loyalty. ;) there will definitely be new lenses in my future, probably the 18-70mm zoom I'd've gotten if I were buying the kit. (mine is like-new used, for $140 less.)

YAY CAMERA!!!

Nikon lens seem to work well. I can't remember my flim SLR brand camera, but I know it's not Nikon, but I've always heard really good things about Nikon.
Very much yay camera!

my 35mm was a hand-me-down from my dad (well, I paid him for it, but not much ;)). my lenses aren't the greatest, but they'll do for now.

excitement!!!!
