Venice, Entry 9: Waiting for Miyazaki

Everybody's leaving! I've just said my goodbyes to most of the Croatian film critic contingent here, and even my roommate is leaving today, which means that I'll finally be able to sleep next to an open window. Miyazaki!!! I love Miyazaki. Like I wasn't jealous enough before lol.

Went! Met! Saw! Slept! And the time is good, even though the weather has been extremely unstable over the past few days. It's sunny now (Sunny!) but right after the Miyazaki press conference, we had a monsoony downpour that scared the bejesus out of everyone. And we all speculated on Hayao's influence with the ancient gods...

Hayao is so kind, shy, soft-spoken and unpretentious! He spent so much time giving autographs and clapping back to all the applauses he's been getting, everyone found him utterly adorable. He's been the single biggest highlight of Venice for me!

And "directress" because... the name of the personage in question isn't indicative of their gender! Right?
