Yes, and in the second part, too. The plague would have prevented John from going home, from taking David to meet his grandparents, even if the pressures of his job didn't. In the interest of flogging the poor man, I had his mother die during the quarantine period. Cause it made my heart hurt, and I like that feeling.
How lovely! What a hardship the quarantine would have been. I love the idea of revisiting the same place at different moments in time. And the sweet is all the much sweeter because of the bitter.

And it's driving me crazy but that tradition of eating out of order when eating outside I've read/heard of/seen somewhere. Aargh!
