Oh my word
It sounds like parts of US that have received 9 to 12 inches of rain in just a few days..........
Between tornadoes and flooding it is so critical in so many communities.
I will keep you and others in prayer along with those here in US

I hope that dam is well maintained, a dam of a man made lake near here collapsed of way before my time about 1850 I think but the stories survived until my childhood at least and when I worked in the Reference Library in Newport I read the report on the disaster and it was caused by lack of maintenance on a packed earth dam and 3 days torrential rain. I will speak firmly to the weather fairy and make her stop it. For once we are not having the same weather, we are having a mini heat wave.

I also hope that the recent work on the dam was professional. Otherwise the original medieval work is flawless and has saved the whole region many times.
Please, try to convice the fairies to move where they are needed...
Thank you!

Stay safe!

We have dams in the hills behind us, providing reservoirs for the canal, but the lie of the land is such that if one collapsed (which I understand did happen to one some time in the 1800s) the water would run down gullies that run east and west of us, and therefore away from endangering us. However, the dams are kept well maintained by the canal authorities.

So you understand how such a flood works.
We hope the situation won´t get worse here - there are already many places totally destroyed by the floods here in CR...
