This was a very touching story.
I liked the subtlty, the understatement. We understand by small gestures what the boys are feeling.

It makes sense that Esca would still be this untamed creature, but that he is sensitive and clever enough to understand what Marcus felt.
I love your Marcus ! He is intelligent and noble. He understands that he cannot try to control the man he loves.

In the end, he didn't lose Esca.
