I have started volunteering this week and have the same worries about not making friends/getting along with people. I do think that it's just a matter of time, however ;) And since you're a lovely person, I wouldn't be worried.

I guess so. It's just, y'know, scary? :D And I'm a nervous person. But it's not all bad, I guess - I had dinner with adult family friends of my boyfriend's family last night, and once I'd got a glass or two of wine in me, I was fine. :P ♥

It's general audition pieces, for flute groups/orchestras/music whatnot - but they're hard, and one's all modern and weird. So, yes. *hides* But I did a bit of practice after I posted this, and I guess it's okay, ish.

In social situations, I either say the wrong thing or nothing. I am very far from fabulous :D But believe me, you'll have so many opportunities to make friends. You'll be beating them off with a stick.

Well yes, a bit of practice always helps :D But if they know what's good for them, they'll snap you up.
