Ariadne is quiet, and all Eames can hear is the rush of Arthur’s breathing. “He wouldn’t leave me,” she says, and there’s a darkness in her voice - a darkness that Eames doesn’t understand and that eats at him, even though the words aren’t addressed to him and they don’t even know he’s here.

They don’t speak, and Eames can feel the tension.
