Oh, I'm cool. :D

I've going to Oxford for interview tomorrow (*CRAZY PANICKED FLAILING*), so (in true History Boys style) I've just gone and downloaded Gracie Field's Wish Me Luck (As You Wave Me Goodbye) off iTunes. DAMNIT I'M COOL ( Read more... )

higher educational institutions, history rattling over the points, watch me rant, music playing in my ears, my life

I definitely recognised it as Magdalen (because I'm totally not a little obsessed, no, why would you say that... *crazy eyes*), but it's never stated where they go so... Magdalen&Posner FTW! :D ♥

Well, ten years for you, a whole new beginning for me, I guess. I'm simultaneously nervous and just raring to go. *huuugs* ♥

Ha, just this morning I was wondering if you had already had your Oxford interview. See, my thoughts are with you!
Good luck which you don't need because you're awesome and they'll love you :)

Apart from that I was wondering what I would have to do to get into Oxford as a foreign student because the appeal that Oxford has on me is starting to grow stronger oO I might have to do some research on this ... (*is crazy and delusional*)

As far as I know, as a foreign student at Oxford you have to jump through basically the same hoops as everybody else, but you have to have an English Language test (I think), and show that you have English Literature GCSE-standard English (because that's the language everything's in) - and considering you're German and you're reading SHAKESPEARE in the original, I'd say you qualify. :D APPLY. APPLY. You know you want to. :D *hugs*

*grabs luck* *needs luck!*

Oh, I love that you're thinking about my interview-stress. *feels all warm and fuzzy*

Of course I know I want too, but it's OXFORD and even thinking about it scares me. However, if every German student's English who's reading Shakespeare in class would be good enough for Oxford, there'd sure as hell be a lot of German folks in Oxford *lol* However, I'm not really concerned about my English, because I'm relatively confident that it's fairly good, but what I'm really worrying about is the entire grades thing and stuff. Also, the idea of translating from Greek into English gives me THE SHIVERS oO
Whatever, I don't have time to think about this much now anyway, so it needs to wait until Christmas Holidays, but I will do some research on it.

Yay for warmandfuzzy!feeling :) Take it with you tomorrow and everything will be well :D

Well, sometimes the best things in life happen because you take a chance on them. Yeah, for me, the idea of translating Greek into German would bring on a cold sweat, but still. You're smart, bb, and I have it on good authority that you never know til you try.

*huuuuuuuugs*

Oh, shush. :D You know what I mean. On a side note, though, one of the guys who's interviewing me in the next few days is German - by the name of Felix Budelmann. :D If I'm honest, the FANTASTIC names at Magdalen are one of the reasons I picked it... :D

But yeah. I think you shouldn't dismiss the idea out of hand, bb. *epic hugs*

*is totally counting down the hours* But I just got offered a place at Durham (about the fourth/fifth in the country for Classics, and a fairly damn prestigious university), so I'm feeling encouraged. ♥

*cheers for you like crazy*

You'll be fine, love! I know you will! Go out there and be bold, be confident, be charismatic. The the awesome August 12th personality that I KNOW you are. (Seriously, we both know that's an awesome thing, yes?) You could conquer the world if you wanted to. But tomorrow, just go and conquer Oxford.

(As for me, I just want to conquer this stomach-ache. And fic.)

For luck, I give you the "Kirk is Awesome" icon, because THAT is the attitude I want YOU to have.

*cheers for you more*

I MISS YOU TOO. I TELL YOU THIS MANY TIMES. :D

I have been told muchly (by friends and teachers and the like) that I just have to be myself in the interview, and show how much I love the subject, because my exam results speak for themselves. GOD I HOPE SO.

*adopts Kirk-like attitude*

Right. Sarah is going to do this. :D ♥♥♥
