This is fabulous - completely surreal and at the same time completely convincing in all its detail. I especially love the salt-crusted strandline made up of all Marcus's sandals, as though all the roads he has trodden have led him inexorably to this point. And I can see the twisted leather and the seaweed so clearly!

This is such a gorgeous fic--I love the idea of the dream and the many threads of Marcus's subconscious and the hints of the future. As always, your descriptions are amazingly evocative--I always read a little more slowly because I want to savor them and picture it in my mind. I especially liked the image of Marcus's double, with the armor and the not quite human eyes.
