In a desperate attempt to get out of her apartment, Anna'd decided it was time for the double-date she'd discussed with Buffy when she was still healing. Don and Danny had been horribly busy with the Cabbie Killer case, and now that things had calmed down, they could use a little fun. Plus? It had been a while since she'd hung out with Danny and ( Read more... )

Buffy managed to get off the back of the motorcycle without showing the whole world her underwear (slayer grace FTW). She took her helmet off and handed it to Danny, shaking out her hair. She'd curled it so that it was bouncy and cascaded around her shoulders. She was wearing a short black dress and a pair of silver 4 inch heels. She waited until Danny had locked the helmets up in the bike and took his hand, cutting across the street toward where she could see Anna waiting. She smiled brightly at her.

"Hey! You look gorgeous," she told her in greeting.

sorry it took so long. Buffy had to shop

After securing the helmets in the bike, Danny took a hold of Buffy's hand, lacing his fingers with hers as they hurried across the busy street. In perfect Danny style, he didn't know the meaning of dressing up unless he had to go to court and even then... well, you know. So he donned his normal boots, faded boot-cut jeans, a maroon tee and a jacket.

He ran his free hand back and forth through his hair to mess it up after wearing the helmet. When they reached Anna, he cast her a crooked grin and let go of Buffy's hand long enough to give her a gentle hug. He didn't want to hurt her since she should probably still be resting. But he knew what it was like to need to get out. "Hey, Anna. Take it you and Buffy talk enough but... Buffy, Anna, Anna, Buffy."

ooc: I told Danny he could not put links to a tee shirt and faded jeans just to be funny. Seriously.

Bribing Angell to share the burden of the paperwork was a bitch. To say the least. It took him promises things he wouldn't want to admit he agreed to promise to, and by the time he finally got her to agree, it was too late for him to run home and change into something else.

Granted, if he had just said that he was meeting Anna, as opposed to meeting Messer, she probably would have just let him go. But with the captain in the bullpen, he didn't want to stir up anything he wasn't supposed to.

Luckily he had a pair of jeans in his locker, that was now replaced by the suit he wore to work, and was on the subway a few minutes later, still wearing the button down he'd worn all day. For the moment, it would do. He arrived at the club just as Danny and Buffy were arriving, and he walked over, giving a wave once someone got close enough to see him.

"How's everybody doin'?"

Anna grinned as she'd hugged Danny and Buffy, exchanging the usual "you guys look great" pleasantries. Hearing Flack's voice her face lit up and she spun on her heel to look at him, hair billowing dramatically behind her as she moved. She grinned and half-ran to Flack, giving him a hug and undoing a few buttons on his shirt. "Angell gave you trouble, huh?" She smirked and patted his chest.

"Alright, shall we head inside?"

"No kiddin'," Flack said to Buffy with a nod. "I volunteer down at the YMCA when I find the free time. It's good to get out there and do stuff for the kids."

He raised an eyebrow at the redecorating the apartment, before nodding. "That's good. Sounds like you two are getting along pretty well."

She looked up at Don with a smile, endeared by his comment about the YMCA before adding, "Charity work is good for the soul. Plus? Good karma. I volunteer at a lot of the local battered women's shelters and rape crisis centers."

"...What did you do to his apartment?" Anna asked curiously.

"Charity work is good," Buffy nodded. "Mine isn't actually charity work though. I get paid. I would be living in a much smaller, much crappier apartment and eating my American Express bill if it weren't for living with Danny but...I'm not really qualified for many jobs. I sort of dropped out of college when my Mom died to take care of Dawn."

At Anna's question Buffy smiled and glanced over to Danny. "Well it started out as just pillows on the couch and some candles but now there are pillow, drapes, comforter on the bed. We had to replace the coffee table and I've got this huge, handmade wooden chest we use. My friend Xander made it for me. Uhm...a couple of new lamps and I sort of decorate with my shoes. There are a pair of Marc Jacobs on the end table because they are works of art. Some Choos on the coffee table and these cute Manolos on the other end table. The closet isn't really big enough for my shoes. Decorating with them is sort of....necessary I guess. Sometimes it's purposeful like with the Marc Jacobs. Other times, it's me ( ... )

"But I made her promise not to make it too girly so it's really not. She did good. And face it, her shoes are hot." Danny said with a small grin and a shrug. It was true. And they were especially hot on Buffy.
