Warnings requests by June 1st, please

May 04, 2012 13:49

Vividcon has set up a system to provide private vid warnings upon request to help attending members with triggers better enjoy the vidshow experience at the con. The marvelous volunteers on our warnings team make this process possible, and I thank them for assisting the con and our members in this manner.

Here's how it works:
  1. Vividcon attendees can email access@vividcon.com with their trigger topic requests. (Using an anonymous email account is fine but is not required.) To allow enough time for the warnings team to view all the vids with your trigger topics in mind, please submit your request by June 1st. (We will do our best to accommodate requests from anyone who signs up for the con after that date.)
  2. Vividcon staff will separate the content of the requests from any identifying information about the requester, and will communicate the request topics only to the warnings team.
  3. The warnings team will review all vids in scheduled vidshows and make notes about which vids contain which requested triggers. If possible, each vidshow will be viewed for this purpose by two team members, as a double check.
  4. The team members' warnings notes for each vidshow will be communicated back to Vividcon staff, who will send the appropriate topical information back to each original requester. Our goal will be to provide warnings information to requesters no later than one week before the date of the con.
  5. To ensure the continued viability of this personalized warnings service, we ask all participants (both warnings requesters and warnings volunteers) to keep the contents of all warnings private and confidential permanently. We also ask that all vid and playlist details be kept confidential until the con begins. Thank you.
Please note: Our staff and volunteers will do their best to provide thorough and accurate information about the vids shown in VividCon's vidshows; however, we can't guarantee that attendees won't encounter triggering material during the con. Additionally, vids that haven't been reviewed for triggers may be shown in panels, private rooms, the consuite, and on portable devices throughout the con space.

Of course, individual vidders may choose to incorporate warnings in their vids or in their program blurbs for Premieres, Non-attending Premiers, Nearly New, Auction and Challenge vidshows.
