Registration is *almost* here! A little later than last year, but guaranteed to be just as thrilling!
Registration for attending memberships to VividCon 2010 will open one week from today at midnight Eastern US time, between Saturday March 13 and Sunday March 14, which is 9:00 pm Saturday in California and 5:00 am Sunday in the UK. As always, you can register
on the VividCon website.
Please read this message all the way through,as it contains important info! We want to keep you on your toes, so there are a few changes again this year.
First, the cost of an attending membership is now $85 by Paypal, $80 by check, until July 1. After July 1, it will be $90 by Paypal and $85 by check. ETA: The pizza lunch on Saturday will also be going up by $5! The cap for attending memberships currently sits at 140. That's a lot of awesome in one place!
Second, registration is only opening for attending memberships, meaning those people who want to travel to Chicago. Supporting memberships will open on Sunday, March 21. More information on supporting memberships will be posted later. This is mostly to make life easier on the new registration person (::waves::). Though everyone will be in Margie's very capable hands for the initial rush again this year. *g*
As a reminder from previous years: if you cannot be at your computer when registration opens, consider asking someone to sign you up. Please make sure they have as much of your information as possible, including badge name, email address, and snail mail address.
Second, because we have filled up so quickly in past years, we are asking people not to send payment until you have received an email confirming your membership. Please note that the automatic email you get with your registration information only confirms that your registration information was submitted, not that you have a membership. Every attempt will be made to get confirmation out in a timely fashion, but waiting until your membership is confirmed to pay avoids any extra hassles with refunds, etc.
Like last year, payment will be due three weeks after your membership is confirmed. That means we need to have either a Paypal payment or a check in our hot little hands within three weeks of confirmation. Otherwise, you will be moved to the waitlist.
