[Vivi's vaguely curious about the village, it seems. Really, she's just looking for people she might be less afraid of ( Read more... )

[More questions to answer. The scrawl on the screen looks childish, and the pink makes it exceedingly unprofessional, but Robert uses his most precise script anyway because he's just that pretentious. (He doesn't realize he's pretentious, though.)]

1. I am not a youth, no. I am twenty four Terran years old, to be precise.

2. The only dreams that I can "see" are my own, though I suppose with an fMRI module and a brain scanner I could witness those of others. At present I possess neither, however. [Robert completely misses the point on this one.]

3. I am male-identified, yes. As for whether I am a "good guy", I suppose that depends on your definition of good. I adhere to strict codes of humanism and I am a pacifist, as well as a dedicated scientist and intellectual. I believe these are positive qualities in a person.

4. I was personally unaffected by the last experiment, so I cannot answer this question for myself. But I found it quite... distressing. As I had only been in Luceti for a few days at that point, it was an exceedingly ( ... )

I am glad that you feel that way about me. [He really is.]

Oh? What is it that I may promise you, Miss Aislinn? [Robert's a bit confused by this question, if only because he wouldn't know what would worry Vivi about him.]

[Robert kind of flails a bit internally.]

I would never do such a thing without permission from you; asking permission is the only fair way to do anything like that.

That is why what the Malnosso do is so wrong. They don't ask anybody for permission - they just do whatever they please to us.

[Robert doesn't understand why somebody would be forcing that on Vivi. It certainly seems traumatic - Robert knows he would be traumatized if somebody was repeatedly forcibly probing his mind.]

If this person refuses to stop, is there not some way to prevent it?

Or is it something beyond your control?

[And some indignant anger, directed at the boy.]

That boy sounds very dangerous if he hurt you before. You should tell somebody about him, so that maybe he can be stopped.

But... dream powers? I don't think I understand... [Robert wonders what Vivi even can do with such powers.]

How do your dream powers work? Or is that maybe something that you don't wish to reve share?

well I dont really have anyone to tell back home... and I think he cant get into my dreams here because its um... a different world or something I forgot how they explained it

oh I know what "reveal" means silly :> hee hee! um... I dunno how they work really I can just do stuff

[Also, she just met you, and even though you're really nice, she's still not going to start talking about a somewhat touchy subject yet.]

This place might be too... separated from your world at home for the boy to get into your dreams here.

That's okay if you don't know. I'm just trying to learn more about peoples' powers here. I want to write a report one day on all the magic in Luceti, to help me understand this place so I won't feel so different. [Writing like this is... getting a little easier. There aren't as many false starts this time.]

Oh, your mother is here with you as well? [Robert's glad that Vivi has somebody she can feel safe with here.]

What is her name?

[Written] vivi_aislinn February 16 2011, 08:36:29 UTC
um I call her Patchy but her real name is longer

[She's not her real mother, either, but again, not ready to share that kind of thing just yet.]

Patchy... [Robert recognizes her as "Miss Knowledge" but he's never met her yet.] Unfortunately I have yet to meet her. But perhaps I will, someday soon.

I hope that your mother and yourself are doing well enough here in Luceti. This is a very strange place, after all.
