I think her dress is gonna be amazing! Regarding the possibility of a costumey overlay, I think if you can find lace that isn't icky and meshy, i.e. good quality, it wont look costumey.

Don't you hate it when you KNOW that a pattern isn't right but you have to do it anyways?! I'm glad for you that HRM liked her kirtle!
