Sunday morning is surprisingly busy. Maria gets up early to take care of Nouria, and then curls back up in bed until the sun rises. She expects Aloysius will be up before she's gotten out of his bed a second time, but she's sleepy, and doesn't much want to be roused yet. "I am absolutely certain, yes." Fun trivia: Aloysius actually like waistcoats, and many of his suits involve one - and certainly when he's in Sunday best. He's in the process of buttoning one, now, in his shirtsleeves with his jacket draped across a chair in the kitchen. "It'll be fine, Maria."

Also trivia: Maria has yet to realize that's what a waistcoast looks like and keeps mentally referring to it as a vest. She crosses the room and goes to do the buttons up for him, helpfully.

"If you say so. How do I look? The heels are only four inches. That's not so bad, right?"

So maybe she's fretting the tiniest bit. This isn't something Maria usually does in relationships at all, much less so soon.

He presses her hands to his chest and kisses her, briefly. "You look fine. You look lovely."

They're doing more or less everything out of order, but this time - this is something Aloysius is used to having be a milestone he hits early, or doesn't hit at all. Maria wouldn't be the first woman to skip out on his insistence on going to church every Sunday he can manage. Although he doesn't always have small children in tow, and rarely theirs.

Speaking of small children: Danae tugs on his pantleg and he picks her up without really thinking about it.

Maria smiles at Aloysius, and then Danae, and touches Aloysius's arm. "I'll go put shoes on and get Nouria."

And in the process, she will try to persuade herself this is fine. Nothing can possibly go wrong here, meeting her boyfriend's family for the first time at church (Christian church!). Her boyfriend who is eighteen years older than her. Whom she met while half-naked. This is a process of persuasion that will require substantial effort. Off she goes.
