I read the first part of this on the fic meme, and I'm happy to see a sequel! I'll never get enough of these guys angstily trying to find their way to each other. :) My favorite parts:

“What kinda guy would you’ve figured me for?”

He looked Claude over, carefully, and shrugged. “Mamet, maybe?”

“Fuck you,” the man said, with a grin, and Peter couldn’t help it. He laughed, and shook his head, and felt slightly, almost normal.

LOL! Oh, and this:

“That’s your problem mate, you don’t want to be anywhere.”

“Great. Existentialism. That’s helpful.”

Great job!

LOL. I love that that's a genre now.

LOL!

*laughs* I'm telling you, that joke is so old, but I couldn't help it.

Thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed it.

I love the interactions between the two and how even though Claude pretty much asked Peter out on a date and was dropping by his place every other day wasn't expecting to get any impressive results. lol, some how that image is just so cute :D

*laughs* I don't think either of them even realized it was a date till the end. They can be a little slow sometimes. Thank you, I'm glad you enjoyed it!

I'm glad you expanded on that universe. This is a perfect addition to it.

“He doesn’t have me.”

“Do I?”

Claude swallowed. Met his eyes, though, and Peter really, really appreciated that.

“For now.”

And that? Swoon worthy, I tell you.

Lovely.

I wasn't even planning to, and then I heard the song and I just had to go with it.

*laughs* I didn't exactly mean for that to be hugely romantic, but swoon away.

Thank you!

Man, I didn't get any of the references *feels dumb*. Anyway, here's another reader happy to get more of this 'verse. I love Claude teaching through theater, like he did with Elle. That's so him, who has watched the world from the outside for so long. And, of course, it's always great when Claude tricks Peter into going on a date.

“I don’t want to go home tonight,” he said, carefully, precisely, not quite meeting Claude’s eyes. “That’s all I’m saying.”
“Right, so,” Claude cleared his throat and drummed lightly at the table. “You want to…with me?”
“I guess.”
Claude laughed at that, loudly, startling them both, and Peter found himself smiling again. Didn’t mind as much this time.
“Flattery’ll get you nowhere, Pete.”
Hee, now I kind of want them to have a fun invisible adventure out in the city, Claude showing Peter how he passed the time when living as a ghost.

Lovely continuation!

Hee. Always. Like he does it so often, that Claude ;)

Yeah, yeah, the whole twice I've seen it done, it's been wonderful.

Well, you could argue that most of their moments in canon were kind of like dates. The first time he goes to Peter's apartment: there's beer and talking about each other's backgrounds. The time on the street: pretzels and wrist-grabbing. Then Claude brings him along to meet the family, ie, the pigeons. See, they're all stealth dates.

I love this. Oh, Claude. Sneakily taking Peter out onto a date without him even knowing. ;)

“Bought myself a ticket,” Claude said, turning away to open the door. “You’re payin’ me back.”

Well, a Claude style date. ;)

I love him tricking Peter into making a point through the theatre, and the tentative trust and relationship they have developed by the end there is perfect.

*laughs* To be fair, I don't think Claude even realized it was a date till the end there.

I'm glad you enjoyed it! Thanks.
