“What kinda guy would you’ve figured me for?”
He looked Claude over, carefully, and shrugged. “Mamet, maybe?”
“Fuck you,” the man said, with a grin, and Peter couldn’t help it. He laughed, and shook his head, and felt slightly, almost normal.
LOL! Oh, and this:
“That’s your problem mate, you don’t want to be anywhere.”
“Great. Existentialism. That’s helpful.”

“He doesn’t have me.”
“Do I?”
Claude swallowed. Met his eyes, though, and Peter really, really appreciated that.

Lovely.

“I don’t want to go home tonight,” he said, carefully, precisely, not quite meeting Claude’s eyes. “That’s all I’m saying.”
“Right, so,” Claude cleared his throat and drummed lightly at the table. “You want to…with me?”
“I guess.”
Claude laughed at that, loudly, startling them both, and Peter found himself smiling again. Didn’t mind as much this time.
“Flattery’ll get you nowhere, Pete.”
Hee, now I kind of want them to have a fun invisible adventure out in the city, Claude showing Peter how he passed the time when living as a ghost.
Lovely continuation!

“Bought myself a ticket,” Claude said, turning away to open the door. “You’re payin’ me back.”
Well, a Claude style date. ;)
I love him tricking Peter into making a point through the theatre, and the tentative trust and relationship they have developed by the end there is perfect.
