Interesting. You'd think they would've known *before* they took the booking that the gig was going to be on ANZAC Day and so wouldn't have taken the booking for that night in the first place.

Puts me in mind of the first IVD gig (if you want to talk about bands having bad luck) back in 2006; it was booked for the Hollywood Hotel, who didn't think to inform us until we actually got there that the Hollywood doesn't do bands any more (in spite of them having taken such a booking just three weeks beforehand)...

Yeah I know, but the Dark Events guys are even more pissed because not only do they not get to throw their event they don't get to make any money, so it's a disappointing surprise to all concerned!

Were you able to do the set anyway?? That's pretty lame!

Amazingly enough, yes, we did. Jo'h got on the blower to Tailor's straight away, asked if they were doing anything that night, they said no, so the whole gig was relocated down the road to Mary St (someone stayed behind to redirect punters to the new location). It meant everything was an hour later in starting than had been hoped for, and it could not be described as "good" in any sense of that word, but at least it went ahead.

Jo'h and I have been compiling a set of our old recordings that we've been sitting on for a while, some previously released, most not. Among the latter is a track from that show with Dark Elvis ranting over us, so you'll get to hear just how aggressively weird we could be when we started out.

its amazing how high a percentage of venues and promoters have their heads up their arse and couldn't organise a tight arse at a football match.

(i don't know what any of that means, its still am... "bum" i think)
