Reading the In-House: A Commentary on Kalinda Sharma

Apr 21, 2015 00:42

By request, I am planning to go through all of the episodes of The Good Wife with the goal of analyzing Kalinda Sharma. These will be my impressions, but they are meant to encourage discussion and alternative points of view. Comments and suggestions are appreciated; flames will be doused in the River Charles.

Given my tendency towards extreme wordiness, I will be posting these to my journal instead of a community. Discussion of deleted scenes will (hopefully) be put behind cuts for those not interested in what didn't actually make it into the final script and/or cut. Naturally, there will be extensive spoilers for the pertinent episode, but I will try to keep spoilers for later episodes out of each write-up to reduce the “second reader” effect. Fair warning: If you haven't seen the last few episodes of Season Two and therefore don’t know what the Revelation is (not the religious one, mind you), you might be able to figure it out from context; I’ll try not to spell it out until the relevant episode (effectively 2x22).

General disclaimer: To my lasting disappointment, I own nothing related to The Good Wife except a brand-newwell-worn copy of Season One and a brand-new copy of Season Two on DVD. I do not intend to make a profit with this. I am certainly not worth suing.

Status: "Painkiller" took a little longer than I'd hoped, but you can probably see why: I have officially become too verbose for (single entries on) LJ. Unfortunately for you folks, I'm not going to be shutting up anytime soon. Thanks for sticking with me. 1x13 ("Bad") coming up next...
