Here we go again
Ashamed of being broken in
We're getting off track
And I want to get you back again
I want you to trouble me
I wanted you to linger
I want you to agree with me
I want so much, so bad

"You didn’t really have to walk me home," muttered Truly under her breath, pulling her coat off her shoulders and snapping her fingers at Don to do the same. He grinned at her and handed her his coat, giving her a once over as she hung them up.

"I wanted to," he said. "Thought it was the least I could do after making you tell me about your mom."

"And spill most of my other secrets as well," muttered Truly, turning back to him and giving him a look when she noticed him watching her. "What are you watching me for?"

"Nothing," said Don, shaking his head and backing up further into Truly’s apartment, a grin spreading onto his face as she rolled her eyes at him. "I guess Danny was right."

"Right about what?" asked Truly, frowning curiously.

"You have changed."

"For the better?" asked Truly walking up to Don, crossing her arms over her chest and looking at her shoes.

"Yeah," said Don softly, touching her shoulder gently. "For the better."

Truly looked up at Don, seeing a familiar look in his eyes. She placed her hand on his chest and rose a bit on her toes, pressing her lips against his. Don’s hand slid down her shoulder, finding the hem of her shirt and inching up under it. Truly parted her lips slightly to deepened their kiss, but pulled away suddenly and backing out of Don’s arms, shaking her head.

"No, no, no," she muttered, running her hands through her hair. "Oh, this is bad."

"What’s bad?" asked Don, still slightly dazed from kissing her.

"Us," said Truly, looking at him as if he’d lost his mind. "But at least we were making out on good terms."

"Good terms?" asked Don, the hint of a laugh in his voice.

"Nobody’s dead," said Truly with a grin. "You have noticed that whenever we’re not together we have the habit of finding each other when we’re upset, right?"

"God must really want us unhappy then," said Don, nodding in agreement. "Sorry, about that."

"Not your fault," said Truly. "It was a step in the right direction. A pretty fucked up step, yes," corrected Truly after Don scoffed at her. "But the right direction all the same."

Come on
And lay it down
I've always been with you
Here and now
Give all that's within you
Be my savior
And I'll be your downfall
