Spaced on Fox

Looks like Fox have bought the rights to Spaced and are putting up a remake. Makes sense on the back of Shaun of the Dead; but I thought they might have included the creators in the loop.

You thought Fox might show a little moral responsibility toward creative copywrite? I know you're an idealist, but... '>

They bought it from the Granada, the owning company. According to the press release (added to original post), They were inexperienced and novices; Simon and Jessica didn't have the clout to demand ownership, and were over the moon to be able to make the show.

Fox's only nod to them is to plaster Shaun of the Dead & Simon Pegg's name all over the promotional material. They've ignored Jessica entirely.

On the other hand there's not much to Spaced when you take out the creators - "Two strangers decide to pose as a professional couple in order to secure an apartment". I think Fox bought the wrong property.
