Another Year, Another Utility Lost
Today a water main broke near home, so the city cut off water at 11 a.m., giving us only 20 minutes' warning, which meant I didn't get a chance to get a shower. At 3 p.m. they turned the water back on for everyone in the neighborhood except my building, because it was our main that broke and thus our landlord's responsibility to fix it. Permits will need to be filed with the city, and our landlord has to get a real plumber for this (for once). With all that, we have no idea when we'll have water again.
