jonghyun knew he could never get a girl like gwiboon, but damn it, he would try. he didn't know what she wanted in a guy but he knew it wasn't anything he could offer - she would always deny him with a flip of her hair, with a sneer of her cute nose, with a pout of her red lips.

but still, even as she walked down the sidewalk, her hips swaying in those sinfully tight pants and those stunning red stilettos, jonghyun was practically dancing around her, trying to get her attention.

"you don't even know what it'd be like," he insisted, as she rolled her honey eyes and raised a hand to tell him to talk to it instead. "you won't even give me a chance."

she snorted and raised a finely trimmed brow, looking jonghyun up and down as they walked, never missing a beat despite the fact those heels looked like they would break on a miniscule crack in the sidewalk. he was so low to her, she wouldn't even waste her breath talking. he had no idea what she sounded like.

most likely like angels.

or satan.

"just give me a chance?" he asked, walking backwards in front of her, his eyes trailing down to the swell of her breasts pushing against the fabric of her low cut tank top. it didn't go unnoticed, as they turned the corner and she smirked, reaching up to push jonghyun into traffic.

cars honked, jonghyun yelped in surprise and gwiboon kept walking, her tight ass getting smaller and smaller in the distance as jonghyun stood in the middle of the intersection, looking a bit dumbfounded.

her hands were warm, his body was electrocuted by her touch.

or maybe that jolt came from the car horn that blared directly behind him.

--

she walked the same path every afternoon on her way home from her prestigious fashion studio, where he knew she designed the latest trends. her hair was always perfect, chocolate ringlets bouncing over her shoulders or high up in a pony tail, bangs swishing in her vision. her lips were always a stunning color, usually classic red or bubblegum pink, and her eyes were smoky naturally though she tended to wear dark make-up to accentuate them further.

she always wore heels.

jonghyun was hoping her center of gravity wasn't that remarkable as he caught up with her again - he got off work at the cafe at the same time she seemed to get off work as well, five in the afternoon - and walked in front of her, backwards.

"how was your day, beautiful?" he asked.

he didn't get an answer, just a snooty noise from the back of her throat as she reached into her large purse and pulled a giant pair of sunglasses out to cover her face.

"wonderful! my day was awesome as well, thanks for asking," he continued on, like he usually did, giving a roguish grin.

he could see her eye roll even with the glasses covering her face. walking in front of her, he had an advantage - he suddenly stopped walking but the momentum of her strides kept her going and she smacked right into his chest (he was a bit shorter than her when she wore those blasted heels), a properly insulted noise leaving her lips. without wasting time he leaned up and forward to press his lips to hers, one hand gripping her curvy waist as he kissed her, inhaling her flowery perfume and tasting the matte of her lipstick on his tongue.

it took her a second to react and when she did she punched him in the face so hard he could have swore she was a dude in drag. he flew to the ground and she huffed, furious, her face bright red and her sunglasses and hair askew from the force of her punch; she righted herself and gave a loud "hmmph!!" before she stalked off towards the direction of her flat.

jonghyun stood up and dusted himself off, wiggling his jaw from side to side. the patrons of the area were used to jonghyun and gwiboon's... antics... so he didn't get too many side-glances as he chuckled to himself.

he walked away, regretting nothing about that kiss.

--

the next time they met jonghyun was waiting outside of her office with a bouquet of flowers. he didn't know what kind she liked - aside from knowing her name and where she worked and the general direction that she lived, jonghyun knew nothing about her.

she bypassed him without a second glance, even though he knew she knew he was waiting for her.

"most girls get flattered when handsome guys bring them flowers," jonghyun said, walking beside her easily, one hand in his pocket, the other tirelessly holding the bouquet up to the side of her face.

she pushed the flowers away and wrinkled her nose in that cute, snotty way of hers and finally she spoke and jonghyun was sure heaven was going to open up and grace him with the sound of angels singing -

"yah, i'm allergic to flowers, get that shit away from me."

hell opened up and swallowed jonghyun whole as he stopped walking, jaw dropping as gwiboon smirked and kept walking, waving her pretty fingers over her shoulder in departure.

her voice...

was pure sin.

and jonghyun loved it.

--

jonghyun decided to skip the flowers, he didn't know what it was like to have an allergy but he figured it sucked. so instead he waited with a heart-shaped box of candies, leaning against the wall next to the glass door of her business.

she came out, right on time, and jonghyun fell into step with her, surprised that he had to look down a bit. she was wearing flats today. he shook his head to get past the anomaly and held out the chocolates to her with a grin.

"girls like sweets, right?"

she rolled her eyes, pulling the sunglasses off of her head and stopping, making jonghyun skid to a stop as well as he faced her, hope bubbling up in his chest and threatening to burst.

"i don't like sweets," she said, looking down at the box of candies.

"you're not a girl," jonghyun said accusingly.

she gave a snide smile and reached out, taking the heart-shaped box from jonghyun's hands, "but i'll take them anyway. thanks, romeo."

she walked off again and even though she wasn't wearing heels jonghyun watched her hips sway in that horribly tantalizing manner, his head tilting a bit to the side to maybe try and get a pantie-shot from the skirt she was wearing.

no such luck.

maybe tomorrow she'll actually exchange numbers with him.

--

he didn't see her for a week, after that. in the mornings he would see her trudging into her studio as early as four a.m. (he worked double shifts sometimes, opening to mid-close), and by the time he left she would still be inside of the studio. he couldn't see inside but she must be slaving away for something or other - he heard talk of a local fashion show getting ready to get into swing but he hadn't really thought much of it until he just plain didn't see gwiboon.

he stood outside the studio for an hour, checking his watch every ten minutes or so. he rubbed the back of his neck and let out a sigh, deciding that he couldn't wait much longer for her. so he jogged to the convenience store and bought a bottle of aspirin and a can of cold tea, setting them gently on the cement stoop of the building, clapping his hands in a prayer before he looked at the glass door, the building dark save for one light way in the back.

"work hard," he said softly, before he stuck his hands in his pockets and wandered home.

--

when the week was up, jonghyun decided to go to the fashion show to at least catch a glimpse of gwiboon. he had never seen any of her famed designs, or maybe he had and just hadn't paid attention to the maker. either way, he wanted to see at least something from her line as he wandered into the park on the bright, sunny afternoon, finding a seat in one of the steel folding chairs, somewhere near the middle and off towards stage left.

the show began and models started to strut their stuff and jonghyun wasn't really interested in them. too tall, too short, too thin, wrong hair color. he was subconsciously comparing them all to gwiboon and he chuckled to himself, smoothing his palms over the thighs of his jeans as he cricked his neck to either side to get it to pop.

his eyes didn't leave the stage, though. gwiboon wasn't in the crowd which meant she was backstage somewhere, either handing out her clothes or wearing them. his thoughts didn't get much farther because her name was announced over the loudspeaker and everyone leaned forward in anticipation, jonghyun especially, his eyes running over every model that came out.

the last model to run the catwalk was gwiboon herself and he stared in disbelief before he chuckled, shaking his head and feeling his cheeks heat up.

she was wearing an off the shoulder black shirt, quarter-sleeves rolled up past her elbows. it went past her hips and nearly concealed her denim shorts, red leggings hugging her curvy legs. on the chest of the shirt was the box of chocolates jonghyun had given her, tastefully added and carefully patched onto the shirt, some of the chocolates still in tact, most likely held down with glue. she walked like a model, looked like a model but jonghyun knew she wasn't one, when she turned the wrong way at the end of the catwalk and covered it up with a flip of her hair, her black heels clacking over the steel stage.

she and her models made another round and stood at the end of the stage in a line, holding hands for their final bow. when she came up her cheeks were slightly flushed and she was smiling - fuck, her smile was beautiful, jonghyun had never seen it so pure and true - and they made eye contact and her smile widened a bit before she and her models were called backstage once more.

jonghyun licked his lips, his teeth chewing on the lower one lightly as he listened to the announce relay the facts of her line.

"designed by kim gwiboon, the romeo line will be available for purchase in the fall."

jonghyun stood up and left the fashion show, feeling more satisfied than he could ever recall feeling in his entire life.

--

their lips were rushed and frenzied when they met, jonghyun having caught gwiboon in the stoop of her building. he pushed her against the wall, her arms wrapping around his shoulders instantly as she pressed her curvy body against his, their tongues sliding together and lipstick smearing over their mouths. his hands rested on her hips and slid up her sides before his fingers tangled in her pretty brown hair and he broke the kiss, resting their foreheads together as he looked into her glittering eyes, catching the smile that reached them.

her eyes were wild, they were untamed and brimming with independence butat the same time he saw a broken barrier in those glimmering honey depths, and he kissed her again, softer, sliding his fingers over her soft jaw.

"i love you," he said softly, whispering against her lips.

"don't be such a sap," she retorted, licking his lower lip as she slipped out from the cage of his arms, walking backwards towards the direction of jonghyun's apartment. "you live this way, right?"

jonghyun was confused for a moment, before he grinned and hopped down the stoop, following after her.

"stalker," he said, slightly accusing, voice playful.

she shrugged, "i learned from the best."

they practically ran to jonghyun's apartment, gwiboon shrieking loudly with laughter as he tickled her and tried to catch her, occasionally stealing kisses and giggles from her lips, grinning as she gave him a wink and crooked her fingers in a 'come hither' motion.

what a catch, indeed.
