Rumble leading is a good experience to use. Kids seated in a circle with instruments (drums are best), conductor in center, conductor begins to move fingers and everyone rolls, conductor raises hands to increase volume or lowers to lower volume, conductor gives a cut cue and everyone stops, rotate to allow everyone to be a leader. works well to increase self-control (lots of stops and starts).

Arthur Hull, Christine Stevens, and Kalani have excellent books, dvd's, and cd's for drumming experiences. I suggest trying to convince program to get small Remo hand drums so everyone has one to use. They sell sets of drums that are great. I used empty water jugs over-turned until we got real drums.

If you're interested, email me from my web site and I'll send some other materials.
