The Autumn Equinox

Sep 23, 2010 18:51

A happy, if belated, autumnal equinox to all of you, especially those who are neo-pagan or wiccan. Although the ancient Celts didn't celebrate the equinoxes, neo-Pagans have included it as one of the 8 Great Sabbats that they celebrate, coming between the August 1st Sabbat of Lammas and the Neo-Pagan New Year on October 31, Samhain.

autumn equinox, holidays

I totally would have sat there and read the whole thing like I was studying the subject and sneaking a peek at someone's lecture notes.

Autumn is a gorgeous season. Your green man is very cool. Oh, to be in England, yes?

May I ask what it was that turned you into a Christian from a Neo-Pagan?

Them Bible thumpers done got me good!!! LOL....just kidding.

I actually didn't transition from Paganism to Christian...I had a long period of atheism in between.

I actually belonged to a coven...it was founded in the early 1970's by some very respected people in NYC, disbanded for awhile, then re-established in the 90's (I joined during its reestablishment). Before that, I had actually been bumbling about as a solitary, but I'm the type that needs a group, or rather prefers a group. This was a good group, based on the Gardnerian tradition, although not entirely ( ... )

Well, eat a bunch of nuts and seeds (or throw them at your friends) and have fun!
