So, there is this thing that happens every year around this time in Galveston, called "Dickens on the Strand". Basically, everyone dresses up like characters from Charles Dickens novels and parades around the Strand talking in fake British accents and hawking their wares. It's fun. I went this year for the first time. Some street urchin told me
