I've been volunteering at a cat shelter since November, and while I'm a sucker for the scaredy cats, something about Peter, the most completely mellow cat in the "Free Room," just clicked with me.  I mean, yeah, he's adorable,  but so are most of the cats in the shelter, in their own way.  But there was something hysterical about his utter

Heh...I knew what was coming before I read that last paragraph. :) There was a kitty that I used to meet on walks, a long time ago, who did that... I'd reach down to scritch him, and he'd be all floppy and purry, and as soon as I pulled my hand away, he'd grab it, with both front paws and just a little claw action, and also with his teeth, very lightly. It was kind of alarming the first few times. And he was quite practiced at this feline martial arts move; as soon as I let him have my hand, he'd pull it back down with his paws while letting go with the teeth and shoving his little furry head into the palm of my hand and purring up a storm. All Your Hands Are Belong To Us.

Thanks for reminding me of that. :)
