So I'm making a
Simple Knitted Bodice for National Knit a Sweater Month (long sleeved, of course). I began rather late in the day on 1Nov, since we were out partying until about 5:30a that morning (yay for Halloween in NOLA!). At this point I'm done with the majority of the body, and I'm super happy with it. It fits beautifully. The only

As for you making it, once you learn the basics this is a perfect first sweater. It really is superduper simple.

i need to get something going. i frogged the scarf with that yarn i got at the zs movie night thingie. it was just taking waaaay too long. i may try knitting it doubled, which i've never done. the my-so-called-scarf in the wonderful, wooly, red...uh...what's that japanese brand? nero? it's not quite what i want to do with that yarn so i'll probably frog that, too.
tonite while walking to my car i thought how nice it would be to have a thin wool or alpaca cardigan to wear under my trench coat. but thin = skinny yarn = tiny stitches = takes me forever = pain in the wrists. ):
also, if ddr is a go tomorrow nite, bring pictures! i have some from the festivities here, too.

Yeah, I'm doing the lace. It's awesome. I'm not doing anything sparktacular, though that's an awesome word for sure. My sweater looks a bit more rustic, since it's all the same yarn, and it's all wool. I love it.
Noro? It's a good yarn for prettiness. It looks neat in a multi-directional scarf, from what I've seen. I've usually just used it in simple scarves, though. Ribbing or whatnot. And a seedstitch bag that needs seaming.
I like thin sweaters better than bulky, for sure. That's one reason I never really make garments. This one I'm making is worsted, and that even looks bulky to me. Superfine sweaters just seem more flattering and classier. I'll stick with accessories like hats and scarves and shawls.
I'll try to remember the camera; I don't know how many pictures Kyle took. I, of course, neglected to take any. Jen and Tom took lots so I'll let you konw when they post theirs.

She hasn't knitted in a long time. (even though she watches shitty tv shows, and has PLENTY of time to knit)
Although, her hands do hurt when she knits...well...I guess art is pain, huh?
