Music is the Best and Worst Source for Ideas...
So, I've been recently obsessing over the Vocaloid song "Cantarella".
Just a quick explaination:
"Vocaloid" is a type of software created by Yamaha for users to create songs and have "actual" voices sing them (the voices are still heavily synthesized). The Vocaloid 2 Character Vocal Series is by far the most popular, featuring Hatsune Miku. "Cantarella" is a duet between one of the original Vocaloids, Kaito, and Miku. "Cantarella" is a poison that was used by the Borgia family of Italy (most notably Pope Alexander VI, Rodgrio Borgia). A type of arsenic, it puts the drinker into a death-like sleep for four hours (although something seems to conflict with some articles...such as cantarella actually killing people). The pulse of the drinker is not found, believing them to be dead. A manga by Higuri You tells the story of Cesare Boriga, Pope Alexander VI's son, and how Cantarella was used to kill (I'm reading it right now. SO PRETTY.) For more info on the poison cantarella, google it. Wikipedia is limited.
Anyways, the song has put some crazy ideas in my head.
The first idea will DEFINITELY be done: I'm going to incorporate cantarella into Halcyon. I'm working on a picture right now to go with it, but it's hard when you don't have a scanner in college. I'd give away what it's for...but that would give away a major part of the story in the first arc.
The second came to me only recently, and I'm a little afraid to write it. It might become my first Hetalia fanfic if I go through with it. And, as much as I could see this coming, it might be a het story. (OMG, srsly?!?) The funny thing with using "Cantarella" and Hetalia is the variety of videos from NicoNico. And all of them are yaoi. (And let me state that the first one is by FAR my favorite. Perhaps because it isn't based off of any other versions.)
ETA: I've finally started to decide to write it. It's going to be a one-shot, and will be het. What? I barely write anything other than het anymore (GODDAMMIT!!!)
