It's been quite awhile since I was on here. I'm not sure if I even know how to use the posting tools anymore, especially since they seem to have changed quite a bit. It's a little strange to feel like an internet elder. Or hipster. Or whatever. "When I was posting on LJ we had no choice but to know how to use HTML!" Thanks for sharing all this! It is a different, more insightful, view of life than what one can post or see on FB. I wish you didn't have to deal with so much shit, especially as it's shit that you didn't really bring on yourself. It seems like a lot of my friends are going through things they didn't bring on themselves. I also wish I lived closer, because I think you'd be great to hang out with! I have my own off-FB life that doesn't look nearly as good as what I post on FB. I would love to post more on LJ again, but as a married person, so much of my life (including some things I bitch about with myself) involves my spouse, and it's almost too much trouble to have to go through that filter of saying, "Since I'm not just writing about myself, how can I write this in a way that tells the truth and is fair to all of us?"

Anyway, I'm tired (have to get up at 5:30am to go to work, you know) - but thanks for posting this bit of reality. I still read LJ because I enjoy hearing about the less-sanitized versions of people's lives than one ( ... )

I've just logged back in after a year or so go and had exactly the same thoughts, we had to know HTML to do cuts and things.. now they just have a button!

How are you getting on in Seattle?

Forgive me what does ouroboros mean? I looked it up in the dictionary and there was nothing!

I'm sorry you feel you did nothing in your 30s. Perhaps you did more than you think? But onwards & upwards
