I've been re-reading the Harry Potter books, in preparation for the PotterdammerungI'd actually forgotten how enjoyable these books are. They're not perfect, they're not great literature, but they are a sweet, fun adventure with just enough elements of darkness and wry humor to make them thoroughly charming. The Potterdammerung is everywhere. I'm pretty sure there's no escaping it. :)

Hey, you're still here! yay!
Assuming you've finished Deathly Hallows, I'm curious to know what you thought of it. Hope you had fun having a cocktail (or three) on Friday!

I had an excellent cucumber-vodka martini. :) I just finished the book today, actually, so I haven't gathered all my thoughts yet... but, overall, I really liked it.

Oh, oops. I didn't realize I hadn't signed in for my other comment.
Cucumber-vodka martini? I can't say I've ever had one of those. I'm afraid the classiest drink I've had consisted of vodka and cranberry juice... which now explains why I want to vomit every time I see cranberry juice.

Okay, I'm excited to know what you thought of it. Particularly the epilogue (the ships, the jab at Draco's hairline, the kids' names (dear lord))...

I can't do vodka-cran anymore, either. Or Screwdrivers or Hop, Skip and Go Nakeds* or tequila in almost any form. College wasn't especially kind to my liver...

Re: the epilogue... I thought it was pretty cheesetastic, but I totally get why she put it in there. It made thematic sense, even if it was ever so slightly over the top. I loved the rest of the book, though, particularly all the Dumbledore backstory.

*Though this recipe is available upon request for anyone who wants to attempt it. ;)
